The Best Family Friendly Cafes In Bali (Updated 2025)

Canggu has become one of Bali’s hottest destinations—not just for surfers and digital nomads, but also for families. Over the last few years, the once laid-back surf town has transformed into a thriving community where parents can enjoy world-class coffee and food while their kids play in safe, welcoming spaces.

If you’re traveling to Bali with children or living here long-term, finding cafés that strike the right balance between good food, great coffee, and kid-friendly vibes is essential. Luckily, Canggu has no shortage of them. From playground cafés with sprawling lawns to cozy brunch spots with kids’ menus and arts-and-crafts corners, there’s something for every family.

In this guide, I’ll share the best family-friendly cafés in Canggu—places where parents can relax and kids can be kids.

The Growing Family Community in Bali

Bali has long been known as a paradise for backpackers and honeymooners, but today, it’s also home to a fast-growing family community. Many young families from around the world have relocated to Canggu, drawn by international schools, outdoor activities, and the island’s slower pace of life.

As this community has grown, so too has the café culture. Many of Canggu’s cafés now go beyond serving great coffee—they’ve evolved into social hubs for parents and kids alike. It’s common to see children running around safely in dedicated play areas while parents connect over brunch, creating a sense of community that’s rare to find elsewhere.

This family-friendly atmosphere makes Canggu stand out from other parts of Bali, blending the island’s natural charm with modern comforts that cater to families.

Why Cafés with Open Spaces and Playgrounds Matter

Parents know the challenge: trying to enjoy a meal while keeping little ones entertained. That’s why cafés with open spaces and playgrounds are at the top of my list.

Instead of rushing through brunch while juggling restless toddlers, families can relax in cafés where kids have room to run, play, and explore. Many of the best cafés in Canggu offer:

  • Outdoor lawns and gardens where kids can play freely.
  • Jungle gyms and playgrounds that keep children busy while parents sip their lattes.
  • Toys, coloring books, and activities for younger kids.
  • Special kids’ menus with healthy but kid-approved dishes.

These features turn an ordinary café visit into a stress-free outing for the whole family. It’s the difference between gulping down your coffee and actually enjoying it.

Why Canggu is Great for Families

Canggu has the perfect mix of trendy cafés and kid-friendly spots, making it one of the most family-friendly areas in Bali. Here’s why it works so well:

  • Healthy food options: Smoothie bowls, wood-fired pizzas, and fresh juices are hits with kids and adults alike.
  • Welcoming staff: Balinese hospitality means kids are not only tolerated but truly welcomed.
  • Accessible spaces: Many cafés are designed with strollers and scooters in mind.
  • Community events: From weekend kids’ workshops to live music, cafés often double as entertainment spaces.

It’s this balance that makes Canggu such an easy place to travel with children.

The Balinese love kids

Balinese people absolutely adore kids and you’ll find that on full display at the many cafes on the island. When I enter a cafe, I’m always greeted with warm smiles directed at myself and my child. If you’ve ever visited Bali, you’ll know what I mean.

If smiles aren’t enough, it’s so common that the staff want to play with my kid and will carry my baby around while I’m enjoying my meal. When frequenting my go-to cafes, the staff will often times just hold my baby as soon as I enter so I am able to relax, have a conversation, and enjoy a coffee. When the food is out and it’s time to feed the baby, they gladly pass my child back to me. It’s honestly one of the most amazing things.

What are the prices of coffee and brunch in Bali?

Bali is not an expensive place when it comes to food and eating out. As I’ve written in my blog post how much does it cost for me to live in Bali, dining out is a significant portion of the budget but not a large absolute number. Of course each cafe will have a different price structure but you can expect to pay roughy the following:

  • Espresso: 25k – 30k IDR
  • Cappuccino: 35k – 45k IDR
  • Flat White: 35k – 45k IDR
  • Smoothie Bowl: 70k – 90k IDR
  • Omelet: 50k – 80k IDR
  • Pancakes or waffles: 50k – 90k IDR

Without further ado, here is my list of the best family friendly cafes in Canggu!

Milk and Madu (Berawa and Canggu)

Milk and Madu was the first cafe I visited on the island. After completing 10 days of quarantine during COVID times, I was in heaven when I finally was able to eat at a normal restaurant again!

Milk and Madu has multiple locations in Bali but its two Canggu locations in Berawa and Beach Road are some of the most family friendly cafes in all of Bali. They have large playgrounds with slides, climbing walls, jungle gyms, and the like which are perfect for kids of all ages

The spacious and inviting interior is decorated beautifully with thatched chairs, plush pillows, and island vibes. It’s a place you’ll immediately want to sit down and start taking videos of your food and the scene.

The food here is on point. The restaurant is open all day and the menu is comprehensive for all the breakfast and brunch specialties. I loved their Madu special which includes all the typical breakfast items as well as their smoothie bowls which were tasty.

Tiny Healthy Family Cafe

No list of family friendly cafes in Bali is complete without having the most aesthetically beautiful cafe in the island.

Tiny healthy family cafe bali

Tiny Healthy Family Cafe is anything but tiny. It’s a huge open space with an immaculately decorated interior full of trees. It also boasts numerous play areas for kids including an upstairs area that has mini pianos. The whole place is a bit of a kids paradise.

The food menu is also comprehensive with plenty of kids friendly options that are also made with health in mind (forget the fries and chicken nuggets). I’m talking about kale and spinach waffles that actually taste good.

THFC is located in Berawa just after the shortcut and conveniently located next to the Montessori school.

Village Cafe

Village Cafe in Pererenan’s Tumbuk Bayou neighborhood is the go to spot for families in the area. While it’s not the fanciest cafe in Bali, it offers a small playground with space to play which makes it quite the scene especially on weekends.

The menu offers something for everyone, from smoothie bowls and fresh juices to hearty breakfast plates, sandwiches, and Indonesian favorites. Families appreciate the fact that portions are generous, ingredients are fresh, and there are plenty of lighter options for kids who might not want a full meal. The coffee is excellent, and the fresh-baked goods often tempt you to stay for “just one more.”

Parklife Bali

Without a doubt, Parklife is the go to playground for Bali families. Park life is located just above Raya Canggu in the Babadan area becoming the pen-ultimate family friendly destination for kids. The outdoor area has a huge garden equipped with a jungle gym, swings, water sprinklers, and more.

The inside area has huge slides that drop into comfortable ball pit which will surely keep every child entertained for hours. Parklife also offers messy play classes for younger kids multiple times a week.

While this is not a traditional cafe like the others on the list, there is also a cafe on site that offers coffees, food, and a place to hang out for parents.

Cafes that are not family friendly but attract families

While there are countless cafes in Bali, there are actually not that many that are “family friendly” providing all the amenities that kids want. However, there are still many cafes that somehow attract families to hang out. Here is a list of cafes where I’ve seen many families enjoying themselves.

  • Neighborhood (Seseh)
  • Riviera (Cemagi) – Connected to Bloom School
  • Two-Face Cafe (free fruit platter for kids)

I’m always on the hunt for more family friendly cafes in Bali so if you have something that’s no on this list, please leave a comment for me to check out!
