Traveling in your own vehicle or by car, which can be rented from the car rental service, is always a special adventure. A deeper acquaintance with the culture, traditions of the country, its attractions, and natural sights hidden from other tourists is possible only by car. You can plan your own travel through cities and villages and not depend on the schedule of public transport. A road trip through the American Southwest is one of my favorite trips for example.

Features of traveling by car
Why is traveling by car becoming popular and car rental services are constantly getting more and more customers? Some of the reasons you can see below.
Freedom of movement
With your own vehicle, you always have the freedom of choice. You can visit America’s major cities, or you can drive to national parks to enjoy the beauty of waterfalls, canyons, and cliffs. For the second type of trip, you need to rent a Jeep, because other types of vehicles do not have such a powerful engine and will not cope with mountain, desert, or rock roads. Thanks to a car you can spend the night in a tent on the ocean and meet a beautiful sunrise in your life, or you can fall asleep under the starry sky in the mountains. No other vehicle can provide such emotions.
Safety
When you drive a car, you feel responsible for yourself and your family. You can stop and rest, explore the best and safest road options, and drive on them. You can also choose those rental cars that have the highest passenger protection ratings: like the Jeep Wrangler, which has a built-in artificial intelligence system and can monitor blind spots, automatically brake, has motion sensors, and other benefits that take care of driver and passenger safety.
Saving Money
You might think that this advantage applies to other modes of transportation, because gasoline and rental car costs are always high, especially during peak season. In fact, if you are traveling with a large group of friends, you will be able to save money on car rentals, because gasoline can be paid for together.
Traveling by other modes of transportation requires transferring from a plane to a bus or cab, buying subway tickets, and paying for a transfer. All of these costs are considerably higher than paying for a one-time car rental.
How can you plan the best car trip of your life?
If you’ve decided that you’re going to travel by car, you need to remember a few tips. Thanks to them, you will be able to quickly, comfortably, and without unnecessary stress prepare for your trip.
Plan your route
Spontaneity may be in your plan, but the base for your car trip should be thought out before you go. Find reviews and information about the different trails in the places you will be going, and ask if the roads are toll roads and which ones have more views. Keep safety in mind and choose proven roads.

Decide on a car
Depending on the itinerary you have drawn up, think about what kind of car you need. If you’re traveling on your own and will only travel on the main highways, an economy car will suffice for you.
If you are traveling with a large family or a group of friends and want to see the national parks, cliffs, or beaches, then rent a 4×4 or even a van.
Make sure to also decide on a manual vs automatic car. If you can drive manual, you can save a lot of money when renting a car in Europe where the default cars are manual. My road trip through Puglia, Italy or through Cyprus was made so much cheaper with a manual car.
Book car and hotels in advance
Not only is it important to plan your trip ahead and think about where you want to go and what kind of car you need, but it is also important to book your vehicle and lodging. During peak season it is difficult to find a free car to rent or a free hotel in famous tourist destinations. This is especially important for those who want to rent a car from the Jeep rental service because these types of cars are always limited. So book everything you need online on websites months or weeks in advance of your trip.

Get your car ready for the trip
During a long trip, a rental car becomes your home for a while. You should prepare everything you might need on the road. Buy enough water and cooked food to save time and money on gas stations. You can take folding chairs and games to rest outdoors during your layover. Also remember the first aid kit, which should be in the car.
Get to know the national food and culture
When you travel by car, you have the opportunity to learn more about the traditions of different countries and cities. Make it a rule to try some of the national cuisines in each new city. This way you can experience different cultures, interact with new people, and have unforgettable memories from your trip.
Thanks to these tips your trip will bring maximum comfort, joy, pleasant moments, and unforgettable memories! Have a safe trip!
